REDDING, Calif. — Oregon Tech baseball opened the 2013 season with two victories last weekend, beating Simpson 13-5 and 13-2.

Pitcher Talon Sisley won the first game, going five innings and allowing five hits. BJ Wilson won the second contest in a six-inning outing.

Ryan Hayden went 4 for 5 in the finale and had two RBI total, while Tyler Conklin scored four total RBI in the two games.

The Owls play Thursday in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Oregon Tech Track & Field

In indoor track, Oregon Tech runners Kirby Garlitz, Scott Minor, and Paul Adams each broke the previous Oregon Tech school-record by more than a minute in the ½ marathon event. The trio went 1-3 in the race with 942 athletes competing at UC-Davis’ Davis Stampede.
