Losing only one senior, Lady Owls sign sole recruit

Peters (300)

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – It’s been an outstanding season so far for the Oregon Tech Lady Owls. OIT is 9-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, which is good for third place, leading Warner Pacific by a half-game.

The success has come from a team with just one senior, which means only one new player is needed next year. That player is Mckensey Peters, a recruit from North Medford High School.

Peters is averaging a double-double for the Black Tornado, scoring nearly 19 points and getting 12 rebounds per game. She was a first team Southern Oregon Conference selection last year and is a four-year varsity starter.

Head coach Scott Meredith believes Peters will be a strong player for the Lady Owls like his last North Medford recruit, current OIT junior Karissa Dixon. Dixon is averaging 14.2 points per game and is shooting 42 percent on the season. She recently earned CCC Player of the Week honors two consecutive weeks.
