KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about an ongoing phone scam.

According to a release, callers representing the Publishers Clearing House tell the victim they have won $1.5 million and in order to receive the prize, they’re instructed to purchase a $499 Green Dot Money Pack and call them back.

The area code on the scam is 876.
