Henley girls swim wins Skyline championship

ASHLAND, Ore. — The Henley girls swim team ran away with the All-Skyline Swim Meet title Saturday at the Southern Oregon University Aquatic Center.

Henley scored 130 points to finish first ahead of Phoenix (74) and Klamath Union (43). Mazama (19) was fourth followed by North Valley (13) and Hidden Valley (11).

The Phoenix boys scored 94 points to win the championship. Henley was second with 77 points and KU ended in third place at 64 points. Hidden Valley (35) was fourth followed by Mazama (8).

Klamath Union coach Uwe Britsch said Alex Willrett won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Marich Sikes captured first in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle for the Pelicans. The KU 200 individual medley relay team was victorious and finished runner-up to Henley’s 400 freestyle relay. Bristch called it the “best race of the meet.”
