SALEM, Ore. – Over 2,000 jobs were added in the state of Oregon in December: 2,300 jobs were added in the private sector, while public sector employment declined by 300.

In November, it was initially believed 600 jobs were added in the state, but now it appears 900 were lost. Overall, the last four months of 2012 showed a nearly flat employment trend.

Trade, transportation and utilities added the most jobs of the major industry sectors, growing by nearly 3,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate in Klamath and Lake Counties was 8.4 percent in November.
