Pivotal homestand for Hustlin’ Owls this weekend

Oregon Tech hosts Northwest and Evergreen State at Danny Miles Court on back-to-back nights this weekend. With just one win in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, it’s a pivotal homestand for the Hustlin’ Owls, who play five of their final nine games on the road.

Making eight starts in OIT’s first 19 games, freshman Austen Flint has finally been able to play in games after missing his first two seasons.

Flint has a team-best 3 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio to go with 3.5 points per game.

The men play both nights at 7:30 p.m. and both games will be on 92-5 KLAD.

Lady Owls Look For Strong Follow-up To 100-point Game

The Oregon Tech Lady Owls are 5-2 in the conference, still behind Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho at the top of the CCC standings.

Opponents Northwest and Evergreen State come into the weekend with a combined 4-10 conference record and play where OIT put up 100 points against SOU last weekend, helped by sophomore Rebekah Matteri’s career-best 19 points.

Saturday’s game is “Blackout for Hunger”, where fans are encouraged to wear black and bring a non-perishable food item for the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank.

Tipoff is 5:30 p.m. both nights and both games can be heard on 960 the Sports Legend and MyBasin.com.
