Night flying operations begin again next week for the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field.
The exercise is a critical skill for F-15 student pilots and is part of their course curriculum. Most of the training will occur in the military operating airspace to the east of Lakeview where pilots can fly without lights.
The night flying will happen from 9 – 11:30 p.m. from Jan. 7 – 11.
“We understand the disruption to the community during night flying weeks, but we try our best to minimize the noise impact,” said Col. Jeremy Baenen, 173rd Operations Group commander.
The community is invited to contact the Public Affairs office at 541-885-6677 with concerns during the operation.
