Phoenix Beats Klamath Union In Wrestling Dual

Phil Morse, Zach Cordoza and Mitch Mirande were among the winners of their matches for Klamath Union, but the Pelicans lost to Phoenix in a Skyline Conference dual Wednesday.

Highly-ranked Tee Nguyen lost his 145-pound match to Braden Vega in a 4-3 decision.

Klamath Union is one of many teams at the Basin’s Best tournament this Saturday at Henley High School.

Bresser Named Outstanding Wrestler At Sierra Nevada

Ronnie Bresser was the outstanding wrestler and Henley won the team title at last weekend’s Sierra Nevada Classic.

Tyler Scott won the 113-pound weight class in a decision, while Ronnie Bresser won the 120-pound class with a pin. Zech Bresser won the 132-pound class.

Klamath Union’s Tee Nguyen lost an 8-7 decision in the semifinals to the eventual 138-pound runner-up, which was the same situation for Trevor Anderson at 145 pounds. Anderson lost in a 13-0 major semifinal. The Pelicans were 26th place as a team.
