Off a weekend sweep to Cascade Collegiate Conference foes College of Idaho and No. 2 Eastern Oregon, the Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls host Simpson University at Danny Miles Court on Tuesday night.
It is a three-game week for OIT, which plays at Warner Pacific and Concordia on Friday and Saturday nights in CCC games.
Oregon Tech has lost three of its last four games while Simpson comes in losers of three straight.
The first of Simpson’s stretch of losses was an 87-79 defeat against Southern Oregon on Dec. 8. Sophomore post Ian Corella led Simpson with 17 points. Four of Simpson’s last six losses have been by single digits.
Tuesday’s game is the first meeting between the two schools, which met three times last season with Oregon Tech winning them all by double digits.
Mihajlo Matic leads the Hustlin’ Owls in scoring with 13.8 points per game followed by Josh Wiseman’s 12.1 per game.
Following last Friday’s 79-72 loss to College of Idaho, junior Josh Johnson was OIT’s best in coach Danny Miles’ value points system at 1.67. He’s scoring nearly 11 points per game.
Austen Flint and Derek Evans are also over 1.60.
