Two dead following weekend Hwy 97 crash

REDMOND, Ore. — Poor driving conditions and speed are blamed for a two-vehicle crash north of Redmond on Highway 97 Saturday evening.

According to Oregon State Police, a pickup driven by 68-year-old Richard Bruce Fraker tried to pass a car driven by 19-year-old Justin A. Hendrix when the pickup lost control and collidded with the car.

Fraker and a passenger in his vehilce, 47-year-old Terry Ann Clampitt, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another pickup passenger is in a Bend hospital with serious injuries.

Hendrix and his passengers were not injured.
