Lady Owls receive votes in NAIA Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There’s a new No. 1 in NAIA Div. II Men’s Basketball.

Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) replaced Northwood (Fla.) atop the poll after Northwood lost to Embry-Riddle (Fla.).

Eastern Oregon from the Cascade Collegiate Conference is the poll’s new No. 2 team after improving to 14-0 this past weekend. EOU received the only first-place vote that wasn’t given to Cardinal Stritch. Warner Pacific remained at No. 13 and Southern Oregon stayed put too at No. 16. Northwest is still at No. 20.

Oregon Tech did not receive any votes after splitting its games with Corban and Northwest Christian this past weekend. The Owls do not play this week before hosting New Hope Christian on Monday at Danny Miles Court.

Oregon Tech Lady Owls Start Earning National Attention

The Oregon Tech Lady Owls team has won six straight and is now receiving votes in the NAIA women’s top 25. OIT defeated Corban and Northwest Christian and plays four games in five days starting Friday.

Tech assistant coach Jguwon Hodges co-hosted Tuesday’s Goofing Around at Lunch Forum and talked about preparation for the upcoming stretch of games.

Eastern Oregon remained the highest-ranked CCC team at No. 10, followed by College of Idaho, which gained two spots to No. 22. Southern Oregon is three places outside of the poll, receiving 35 votes total. Concordia (Neb.) is the top-ranked team.

OIT plays at Menlo and Cal-Maritime on Friday and Saturday before home games against Northwest Indian on Sunday and Tuesday.
