Drugs may have led to Bonanza double homicide

KCSO Burned truck

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — A drug deal may be to blame for a double homicide near Bonanza last October.

Klamath County Deputy District Attorney Sharon Forster told NBC-2 investigators believe the men were shot over a drug deal.

32-year-old Everado Mendez-Ceja and 38-year-old Ricardo Jauregui were found just outside Bonanza after Jauregui’s burned-out truck was discovered a few weeks earlier.

Forster says investigators still have been unable to locate a man the men were supposedly seeing about a horse in the area.

Authorities are asking for any information, no matter how small, be reported to the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.
