ADRIAN, Ore. — The Triad Timberwolves are into the OSAA 1A Football quarterfinals after beating Adrian 62-52 on Saturday. The T’Wolves fought back after falling behind 24-8. Gabe Ovgard rushed for six touchdowns in the win.

Triad goes to St. Paul on Friday night, a team that beat Triad 70-28 in the season opener this year.

OSAA 4A Football State Championship

An early turnover by the Klamath Union Pelicans led to North Bend’s first score as the Bulldogs defeated KU 42-20 in the opening round. North Bend scored on three of its next four possessions to build a 14-point halftime lead.

Seniors Albert Depew and Tyler Butler caught touchdown passes from junior quarterback Ben Mitchell for Klamath Union (8-3).

North Bend (9-1) senior quarterback Hamilton Mateski ran for three TDs and passed for two others. The Bulldogs meet Gladstone next week in the quarterfinals.

Lost River defeated Monroe 20-18 in the opening round of the 2A playoffs. The Raiders move on to host Grant Union Friday in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile Bonanza was eliminated by top-seed Kennedy 57-0.
