YREKA, Calif. — Siskiyou County Sheriff’s office deputies have a wanted felon in custody after a car chase last week.
26-year-old Shawn Timothy O’Leary of Yreka was one of three in a vehicle when deputies attempted to stop the car. According to a release, the car’s driver 44-year-old Vincent Bowers and a passenger 37-year-old Kari Landrum exited before O’Leary fled at a high-rate of speed, colliding with a guard rail several miles later. He left the car and was found by a K-9 unit.
Methamphetamine and marijuana were found in the car as was a firearm found thrown from the car. O’Leary is in Siskiyou County Jail on numerous drug and weapons charges. The other two were also arrested.
