HS Soccer Round-Up: KU-Mazama play Saturday for playoffs



KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Klamath Union used goals from Luis Serrato, Sam Patterson, Jose Mesa and Jache Ortega to beat North Valley 4-0 and set up a winner makes the playoffs match with the Mazama Vikings Saturday. Mazama lost 3-2 to Phoneix, falling behind 3-0 before goals from Luis Valdez and Omar Cisneros made it the one-goal margin.

First-year Mazama head coach Brandon Moncrief says a good first half start is important against KU.

Klamath Union won 2-0 in the first meeting. The match Saturday starts at noon at Mazama High.

Phoenix is the league champ followed by Henley, which beat Hidden Valley 2-1 yesterday.

The Mazama girls team is undefeated playing host to Phoenix today. Klamath Union and Hidden Valley are tied for second at 6-3 after KU beat North Valley 3-2 Tuesday and Hidden Valley shutout Henley 2-0.
