OIT Round-up: Men’s soccer gets first win

Hootie 2

The Oregon Tech basketball season starts Nov. 2 when the defending national champion men’s hoops team hosts UC-Merced at Danny Miles Court. Earlier this week, the pre-season polls and all-conference teams are out and OIT is noticeably on them.

Owls men’s basketball is picked to win the Cascade Collegiate Conference again, a title they won along with the tournament and national title last season with a 34-4 record.

The Lady Owls were picked fifth in their poll, with Eastern Oregon as the projected league champ.

Each team has a pick on the all-conference teams too. Senior David Clarke and junior Karissa Dixon were named to the All-CCC teams earlier this week.

Lady Owls Drost CCC Player Of The Week

OIT senior women’s soccer player Meghan Drost was chosen CCC offensive Player of the Week, scoring six points in OIT’s 2-1 overtime win over Northwest Christian and a 2-2 draw with Corban last weekend.

The Lady Owls are now 4-1-1 in league games. Drost scored twice against NCU including the game-winner and once against Corban. Rebekah Matteri had 19 saves against 52 shots this weekend.

Men’s Soccer Victorious For The First Time This Season

The Oregon Tech men’s soccer team notched their first win this season, beating Northwest Christian 2-0. Rey Chavolla scored both goals for OIT, which is now 1-8-1 this season overall.
