KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – 960 the Sports Legend and Charter are proud to announce the Charter Student Athletes of the Month with the selection of winners from September 2012.
Mazama’s Todd Delaney and Oregon Tech’s Sara Howard were selected and will receive a certificate and an invitation to appear on the Basin’s live, local sports talk show, Goofing Around at Lunch, on October 19.
Todd Delaney is a senior runner at Mazama and posted the 12th best 4A time in the state so far with a 16:51 at the Henley Invitational Sept. 25. He has a seventh place finish at the Northwest Classic meet in Eugene and a fourth place effort at the Steve Prefontaine Classic road race in Coos Bay.
Sara Howard is a junior at Oregon Tech. She set a school record in September’s Charles Bowles Invitational when she finished 13th overall in the 5,000-meter race. Her time was 18:30.08. Her effort was a part of Oregon Tech receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll for the first time in school history.
Each winner will receive a Charter certificate during the October 19 edition of Goofing Around at Lunch.
The Charter Student Athletes of the Month are selected by 960 the Sports Legend from nominations by the community, athletic directors and/or knowledge of athletic achievements. Please send nominations for your selection to firstname.lastname@example.org.
