BEND, Ore. — A Bend-based electric-vehicle maker is moving into a new assembly plant in Lakeview.

Jay Bower, the chief technical officer for Venus Motors, told The Bulletin newspaper that this week’s move to a 2,000-square foot facility is an effort to boost production and be closer to markets in Nevada and California.

Founded two years ago, Venus Motors builds custom electric kit cars and ships them to dealers across the country.

Remarkable! When was the last time news of an industry moving to Lakeview? This is great. A town that deserves to have something.
