KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — There were still turnovers for the Klamath Union Pelicans, but not nearly the quantity as quickly on Friday night. Still, a giveaway led to Henley’s only score of the night in a 26-7 loss to KU, preventing a Pelicans shutout.
Ben Mitchell threw touchdown passes of 27 and 84 yards to Jack Bell and Albert Depew. Bell also intercepted Henley quarterback Josh Overstreet for one of KU’s two takeaways in the win. Jonathan Munoz and Isa Daibes each found the end zone and tight end Mitch Mirande had 100 yards receiving.
Ronnie Bresser returned a over-the-head snap by KU 17 yards for Henley’s lone points with 2:55 remaining in the game.
Klamath Union (4-1; 1-0 Skyline) hosts North Valley next week at Modoc Field (6:35 p.m. – 960 the Sports Legend), while Henley (1-4; 0-1) travels to Hidden Valley.
