KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Klamath Falls Gems will have new leadership going forward, as general manager Chuck Heeman has resigned, the club announced over the weekend.
Heeman submitted his resignation to the club last week according to owner Howard Morris and the organization has some coordination to finish before searching for his replacement.
Morris is one of a handful of local minority owners and says he has good reason to believe the teams majority owners – a combination of other West Coast League team owners – will ensure wood bat college baseball stays in the Basin.
Heeman has not confirmed what he’ll do next, but says the Gems are ready for the next step.
Last season, the Gems finished one win shy of making the postseason in only their second year as a franchise.
