OSP continues Chemult death investigation

CHEMULT, Ore. — Oregon State Police are continuing its investigation into the death of a 52-year-old man who died after losing consciousness.

Donald Brent Smith died after reportedly acting erratically before entering the apartment of a pregnant female. In the apartment, the woman’s father George Gray and three adult males approached Smith and physically restrained Smith when he lost consciousness, according to the OSP release.

An autopsy was conducted last Thursday, but the cause of death was not confirmed. Toxicology test results may not be available for weeks.
