Gun fire prompts arrest in Klamath Falls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Gun fire alarmed neighbors over the weekend, prompting police to come to the residence, but all the subjects fled before their arrival. After an investigation, 18-year-old Joel Levi Mcelrath was arrested the next day, charged with unlawful use of a weapon and disorderly conduct. According to a release from Klamath Falls Police, Mcelrath had been drinking alcohol, found his cousin’s handgun and shot it numerous times into the air.
