Air quality index harmful for all Tuesday



KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Klamath Basin residents can easily see smoke in the basin sky. It’s not just your eyes that can notice the smoke. The smoke can have an impact on your lungs.

Area wildfires are bringing a large amount of smoke into town. Klamath County Public Health Information Officer Molly Jesperson says the current conditions can cause respiratory symptoms and reduced lung function.

The air quality index readings are stating very unhealthy conditions for everyone. Jesperson had yesterday’s averages.

Early Wednesday, the smoke was visually less severe than on Monday and Tuesday.
