Barry Point Fire 95 percent contained

LAKE COUNTY, Ore. — The Barry Point fire is now 95 percent contained and some road closures are still in effect. Fire traffic is expected to remain heavy according to South Central Oregon Interagency Fire and closures remain in the Fremont-Winema National Forest and Modoc National Forest.

Over 600 personnel including 17 crews and 35 engines work on the lightning-caused fire that has burned over 93,000 acres.

Other road closures from news release

Oregon: Roads and trails in Yokum Valley, the Fitzwater/Point Ranch area, dog Mountain, Long Valley, Drews Valley (south of Highway140), Dent creek and Barry Point.

California: All roads from the Oregon-California border south to the Big Sage Management Area then to the west to the 73 Road and east to Goose Lake. Also, on the Modoc NF the James Camp Ground is closed.
