Meetings Thursday will see a committee review and recommend funding for watershed restoration programs in Klamath and Lake Counties.

The meetings are at the Klamath Ranger District Office in Klamath Falls with Resource Advisory Committee members will meet with Forest officials starting at 8 a.m. before holding a question-and-answer session until 2:15 p.m. Public comments are welcome starting at 4 p.m. following a caucus for the committee, in which they’ll rank and recommend projects.

Fremont-Winema official Amy Gowan said in a release that the one day session is due to the quick turnaround time to coordinate the one year extension of Secure Rural Schools, which provides timber payments to counties in which national forest lands are located.

The program was extended one year after originally expiring in 2011.
