Fire Information Officer Ashley Dubrey says within the span of one day the containment level went from 51 percent to 65 percent.
Over 93,000 acres have been torched from the lightning-caused fire started earlier this month. Dubrey says firefighters are on schedule to get the fire contained by Aug. 25.
All of the Oregon evacuation notices have been lifted, but a few remain in Modoc County. Dubrey says those residents could be back in their homes soon.
