OSP Fish and Wildlife need information in poaching cases

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife troopers are in need of help regarding a poaching investigation.

Over the last several weeks, the Central Point Area Command office is looking into several cases. The first involves the headless carcass of a bull elk left to waste near Butte Falls in mid-July followed by an early August incident off Butte Falls Highway. There, authorities discovered two elk that were shot in the hindquarters and backstrap. The same day, two matrue black-tailed bucks were dumped on the side of Savage Creek Road near Rogue River.
