“Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” – that is the message from Oregon State Police to help curb drunk driving now through the Labor Day holiday.

Over 10,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide are participating in the program. OSP Superintendent Richard Evans says despite most people knowing it is dangerous, too many people get behind the wheel while impaired and that is simply not worth the risk.

There were two fatal crashes during the 2011 Labor Day reporting period, resulting in three deaths. Neither of those incidents were alcohol-related, however.
