SALEM, Ore. — The state of Oregon is the recipient of nearly $16 million in federal funding for highway projects.

The Oregon Department of Transportation says the funds are the second highest total of any state – only behind California. The Federal Transit Administration also provided $12.3 million for bus-related projects.

Among the projects earmarked for the money are three for the state’s scenic byways including Cascade Lakes near Bend.
