Local businesses raise money for MDA

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — For over 20 years, the Muscular Dystrophy Association has been working with retail stores to help raise funds through the purchase of shamrocks. Local businesses such as Grange Co-Op made an impact this year.

According to the National Institutes of Health, Muscular Dystrophy will affect between 400 and 600 male babies born in the U.S. this year, and MDA is the largest, non-governmental agency funding research.
