This weekend, a two-day road and mountain bike event will take place in Lakeview.
It’s the first ever Tour de Outback. Two days filled with scenic bike rides. Tour de Outback isn’t a race. With that in mind, all skill levels of cyclists are welcome.
Audrey Henry director of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce says the Saturday ride is a structured ride.
The proceeds from the Saturday ride goes toward building a local cancer treatment center in Lake County. For the free Sunday rides, riders have the option of taking a mountain or road course but there won’t be any aid stations. Henry says the goal is to give riders an opportunity to discover and experience the Lake County scenery.
For both Saturday and Sunday rides, the Tour de Outback begins at 8 a.m. by the Lakeview town pool.
