Woman charged for filing phony prescriptions

A 41-year-old Central Point woman is accused of using her position as a doctor’s office manager to obtain over 8,000 pills illegally.

Medford police arrested the woman after she allegedly filled more than 150 prescriptions at 12 different pharmacies for generic Vicodin.

The prescriptions were written over the last three years.

Police were investigating the woman for embezzlement before discovering the accused crimes.
