Bicyclist injured in coastal collision



BANDON, Ore. — A bicyclist on Highway 101 was seriously injured Wednesday morning when an SUV struck him on the shoulder south of Bandon.

The 52-year-old biker from the Netherlands was transported to Bay City Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Oregon State Police are waiting to release his name until they contact family.

The SUV’s driver 62-year-old Bethany A Peck was uninjured, but her husband was arrested for DUII when he arrived at the scene and was visibly impaired.
