West defeats East in WCL All-Star Game

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The West Division squad threw a combined 14 strikeouts to aid a 3-2 victory over the East in Tuesday’s West Coast League All-Star Game at Borleske Stadium. Klamath Falls first baseman Josh Wong had a hit in the victory that saw the West erase a two-run deficit. Tanner Nielsen scored a run.

Earlier in the day, Austin Byler finished runner-up to Wenatchee’s Taylor Sparks in the home run derby. Byler smacked six homers in the opening round.

The Gems resume regular season play tonight at division leader Corvallis. Game time is 6:40 p.m. with the broadcast beginning at 6:05 p.m. on 960 the Sports Legend.
