ROSEBURG, Ore. — West Valley Babe Ruth of Eugene jumped out to a 13-0 lead en route to a Babe Ruth state title win over Klamath Falls Red, according to Klamath Falls Blue coach Joe Hood.

Red was unable to get a hit through the middle part of the game, Hood said via e-mail, finishing the tournament 3-2. Klamath Falls Blue went 1-4.

“[Blue] started strong with a win [on day one]. A good group of kids,” Hood said. “The Red team had a good run up to the championship game. They just ran into a dominant West Valley team that was just all around fundamentally sound.”
