OIT creates new partnership for battery research

WILSONVILLE, Ore. — The Oregon Institute of Technology has partnered with Powin Energy in OIT’s Renewable Energy Engineering program. The partnership is for OIT’s Wilsonville campus, giving students and faculty battery testing equipment, allowing for advanced experiments during senior projects. The idea is to supply technical information to help companies design and use battery products. By May of next year, OIT should be able to supply Powin valuable results on tests on lithium ion batteries characteristics and life cycles.
