Missing Children’s Awareness Day

Families are encouraged to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety today as it is Missing Children’s Awareness Day in Oregon. Dating back to 1983 when President Ronald Reagan named May 25 National Missing Children’s Day, today is strong in its focus on child safety. Oregon Law Enforcement Data System shows that over 460 children are listed as missing and ten percent are indicated to possibly be in danger. In addition to talking about safety with children, families are encouraged to sign up for Amber alerts.
