Volunteers needed to help clean up trails

Boardwalk Through Lush Forest

In honor of National Trails Day, the Fremont-Winema National Forest and Wal-Mart Wellness Group are hosting a “Trailgating” party at the Williamson River Day Use Area on Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers will gravel trails and cutting back vegetation, then enjoy the outdoors with a barbecue and raffle.

All trail work volunteers are required to wear work boots, gloves, hats, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Participants are encouraged to bring their own insect repellant, sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and plenty of water.

Any individuals or families interested in participating in this event please contact Jackie Holm at the Klamath Ranger District, 541 885-3425, or jholm@fs.fed.us, by Wednesday, May 30.
