KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A Bureau of Reclamation forecast predicts a water shortage this summer. A new report that came out yesterday says there will be a water shortage of about 70,000 acre-feet on the Klamath Reclamation Project. In years where drought is not a factor, the Project uses 400,000 acre-feet or more. Public Affairs manager Kevin Moore.

There’s still time for irrigators to sign up for a land-idling program that aims to lessen the impact of the shortage. The deadline for that is June 1 with the Klamath Water and Power Agency.
