Summer Gems player earns JUCO honors



COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A returning Klamath Falls Gems player is excelling with his current team.

Northeastern Junior College’s Nick Miller was named National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Week after hitting for the cycle in an 8-3 win for his team over Trinidad State JC.

Miller batted 5-for-5, two RBI and scored three runs, while also stealing a base. Northeastern JC is now in the Region 9 tournament championship series this weekend.

The Klamath Falls Gems open the season June 1 at Kiger Stadium. Miller will play first base and pitch this season, after he batted .201 for seven doubles and a home run last season.
