The Cascade Conference softball tournament opens up at Oregon Tech’s softball complex Friday, with those host OIT Owls holding the number one seed and a first game bye.
The opening contest will feature Concordia and Corban in a single elimination format. The winner then plays Oregon Tech in the first of a three-game series around 3 p.m.
While the defending national champs have a goal of making it back to the national tournament, OIT senior Ashleigh Larson and her team are focused on taking care of their conference opponents first
Concordia went winless versus OIT this season, but Corban won the season series three games to one.
The championship series will see game two at noon on Saturday and game three, if necessary, 30 minutes afterward. The winner receives the conference’s automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament in Alabama later this month.
