ASHLAND, Ore. — The first year of Southern Oregon football in the Frontier Conference begins Sept. 1 when the Raiders host Montana Western at Spiegelberg Stadium in Medford.
The school also announced a reduction in ticket prices for the season, including season tickets for all five home games for $40. The Raiders also lowered ticket prices to $10 for both seatback and general admission seating. Once again for 2012, children 12-and-under will be free and seniors 62-and-over will cost just $5.
“We really want this to be an affordable experience for families in the Rogue Valley to come out and watch our football team play,” SOU Athletic Director Matt Sayre told souraiders.com. “When we took a look at other small colleges around us, we found that our prices from last year ($12) were already the lowest and we really want to make sure everyone can come out to watch us this year as we take our first steps into the Frontier Conference.”
Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.souraiders.com and clicking on the “Raiders Tickets” box at the bottom of the page or by calling 541-552-6772.
The Raiders will follow the season opener with a trip to Rocky Mountain in Billings, Mont. on Sept. 8.
The first of four home games at Raider Stadium will take place Sept. 22, as the Raiders host fellow Frontier Conference newcomer Dickinson State.
After a trip to Montana Tech on Sept. 29, SOU returns home to face in-state rival Eastern Oregon on Oct. 6.
The toughest stretch of the season may come during the following the four weeks, starting with an Oct. 13 trip to Montana State-Northern, followed by a return trip the next week to Montana Western. The Raiders finally come home on Oct. 27, only to face perennial NAIA National Championship contender Carroll College on Oct. 27. The next week, SOU hits the road again to battle Eastern Oregon.
SOU will wrap up the regular season Nov. 10 when the Raiders host Montana Tech.
