The Sterling Bank Invitational gets underway Saturday at Oregon Tech’s John F Moehl Stadium. Dan Fast is the meet director for the two-decade-long track and field meet.

5A school Eagle Point and McQueen from Reno, Nev. are a couple of the larger schools competing, plus there will be a majority of the Basin teams.

There will be a big school and small school champion plus individual champions. A favorite in the javelin is Lakeview’s Lane Roseberry.

Now with a year of experience, Roseberry isn’t as concerned with the other teams as much as having a specific mindset for this year’s Sterling meet.

Many marks set this season by participating athletes have been better than current Sterling records, so the history books could change quite a bit this weekend.
