KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Oregon Tech women’s basketball head coach Scott Meredith announced Thursday the signing of Megan Whetstone, a 5-9 forward from Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo.

Whetstone led her team in scoring this past year, averaging 11.5 points per game, shooting 46 percent from the floor and also grabbing 5.8 rebounds. For her efforts, Whetstone was named Team MVP and Second Team All-Conference while also picking up Academic All-State Honors for the second time.

“Megan is a tremendous athlete; strong, quick and aggressive,” said Coach Meredith. “As her team’s leading scorer in one of the most competitive high school leagues in Colorado, Megan is coming to Tech with experience and confidence. She’s a great student and will be a very welcome addition to our program.”

Oregon Tech will open up the 2012-2013 season at home on November 3 against Walla Walla University.
