New monument to be dedicated to historic fire victims


KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A special ceremony to dedicate a new monument honoring the unknown victims of the 1920 Houston Hotel Fire will be held at Linkville Pioneer Cemetery this Saturday. The fire was the worst tragedy in Klamath Falls history, with two blocks of the business district destroyed, and as many as 14 people died. The dedication will be held after the morning spring cleanup at Linkville Cemetery.

The public is encouraged to attend all the activities and learn about some unique history preserved in the Klamath Falls Community’s pioneer cemetery.
