OIT Round-Up: Volleyball signs two

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Oregon Tech volleyball announced two of its latest recruits, adding Marlee Smith of Springfield and Megan Holland out of Keizer. Smith is a three-time all-leaguer including Midwestern League first-team honors last year as an outside hitter. Holland helped her McNary High School team to the conference title in 2010 and was a first-team all-conference selection last year.

OIT Softball Looks To Stop Conference Slip

With its Cascade Conference lead down to a game and a half, Oregon Tech softball hits the road Friday for two with Eastern Oregon. The Owls are 13-4 in league play, but have lost three straight after a rain-shortened doubleheader with Southern Oregon on Tuesday. EOU is 6-14, winning only two of its last eight games.

The broadcast is on 960 the Sports Legend at 2 p.m. with Mike Garrard from La Grande. We’ll also carry the doubleheader with 11-9 College of Idaho on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Owls Baseball In Crunch Time

Oregon Tech baseball tries to make up ground in the NAIA West division, starting a series at the University of British Columbia Friday at noon, where the teams will play back-to-back doubleheaders through Saturday. UBC is 14-10 in conference and currently in fourth. OIT is 9-15 trying to gain ground on Concrodia for sixth. The Cavaliers are about three games ahead of the Owls in anticipation of their weekend series in Klamath Falls next weekend.
