High-School Round-Up: Mazama softball beats Ashland



ASHLAND, Ore. — Mazama softball played an off-night doubleheader at the Ashland Grizzlies Thursday. Head coach Todd Nickerson says his team played well, starting with a 8-4 first game win.

The Vikings also won the second game 6-5, improving to 11-3 on the year. No. 9 Mazama does not have a Saturday league game, returning to the Skyline diamond Tuesday hosting Phoenix.

Henley beat Lakeview 14-0 on Thursday as well. The No. 2 Hornets now welcome in Phoenix this weekend. Other series have Bonanza at Butte Falls and Chiloquin hosting Lost River.


Henley baseball follows its first league win over Mazama on Tuesday with a doubleheader hosting Phoenix Saturday. Mazama looks to rebound at 4-0 Klamath Union, while Hidden Valley and North Valley meet.

From the 2A, Lost River has home games with Etna. Tulelake is at Happy Camp Friday.
