Lost River leads track and field medal winners



KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Lost River track and field won eight events at Tuesday’s Chiloquin Invitational at Oregon Tech, including six girls events.

Freshman Carley Brown took the 100-meter race with the only sub-14 second time, with teammate Megan Parks victorious in the 400 meters. Lindsey Barrows raced to a 1500-meter win, while Parks and Brown combined with Kristal Alonzo and Irene Alonzo for a 4 x 100 victory. Kristal Alonzo also won the long jump. Jennie Lowrie took the discus throwing over 85 feet.

Eric Summers ran the 3,000 meters in 10-45 and Jake Cerri captured the triple jump title on the boys side.

Klamath Union won four events, with Illinois Valley and New Hope Christian successful in three.
