Skyline Conference play opens Tuesday with softball and baseball match-ups throughout the Basin.
On the softball diamond, Mazama takes a 6-2 record to Murphy to face Hidden Valley. Last year’s regular season champion Vikings will see a Mustangs opponent that has won four in a row, including two five inning wins over Lost River and Cascade Christian.
Bonanza hosts Lost River in the Southern Cascade League opener. The Antlers beat Lakeview over the weekend and senior Chelsea Pickett says Bonanza is a different team this season.

Lost River’s only win was Mar. 27 against Tulelake.
Butte Falls opener is at Prospect. The Loggers are 1-4 this season. Chiloquin is idle awaiting its opener next week.
Skyline baseball openers include Klamath Union at Henley. The Hornets won every league contest with KU last season, but lost the fourth meeting 8-7. Henley was the league runner-up behind the champion Phoenix last year.
For Klamath Union, the Pelicans haven’t played since Mar. 28 when they closed out three straight wins at the Coach Bob National Invitational in Arizona. Still, KU co-head coach Art Kuhlman is happy the Pels have eight games under their belt going into Skyline play.
