Track and Field Round-Up: Henley grad places second

OREGON CITY, Ore. — Oregon Tech’s Breanna Burns ended the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships ninth in the heptathlon, falling a spot in day two.

Eastern Oregon’s Kimmy Moore won the event.

In Oregon City, OIT’s Kassi Conditt won the shot put event, while Kevin Ellingson placed first in the pole vault at the Pacific Northwest Relays.

Conditt’s heave was 42 feet 8 inches, over five feet better than second place. Ellingson cleared 14 feet 7 inches in the pole vault.

Wallace Second At Pepsi Invitational

Former Henley runner Taylor Wallace finished second in the steeplechase at Saturday’s Pepsi Invitational in Eugene. Running for the host Oregon Ducks, Wallace followed teammate Kimber Mattox for a one-two finish. Mattox’s finish just over 10:15 was the third-fastest in UO history. The Oregon men and women both won the team category, capturing 16 individual titles.
